On the borough road just off St George Circus near the Elephant and Castle.
The first party/gig there was on New Years Eve 1990 the organisation of which started at 7pm on that day after we'd been informed that the Bus Garage in Camberwell was being busted and evicted and was surrounded by police. It probably wasn't the snazziest of dos, but it went on, duly before midnight with bands and DJs going on through the night and into the wee hours of 1991.
more gig and parties ensued, one of which was rioted by the police.
Mostly flyers and pictures from squats/gigs/parties/festival, mostly from the 1990's but you might get the odd ones from the 80's and the 2000's too depending on what I get my hands onto. Currently mostly uploading pictures, after some mildly marathonic scanning session, I will add more informations in the future when I have some leisure time. There might also be some pictures/flyers completely unrelated to the above depending on my mood. Enjoy and feel free to leave comments.

Bloody hell, memorable night. i was one of the people putting on the party at Camberwell bus garage that had to spend the previous night in Peckham nick after pointlessly trying to liberate 8 rusty steel palettes from a yard in Peckham to build a stage. Unfortunately, one of us whose name i'll spare to avoid embarrassment had a pocket full of flyers at the time... I'll send a copy of the flyer to that non-happening in about a year and a half as on other side of the planet...
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what that name is, in fact seeing him a bit later on today :) , I wonder, does your name start with gl mr anonymous?
ReplyDeletebeen in my cupboard looking and i find a leaflet about a gig at "the hell house" with Unrest, former members "radio mongolia","parkaj montalle" something never heard of it! got more of it. The north london "wood green" crusties were not that bad!?!...tchao
ReplyDeleteAny chance you could scan those flyers anonymous and upload them somewhere?
ReplyDeleteI thought I had a lot more than I do but they got lost through time and moves over the years unfortunately.
